Questions & Answers

FAQ

Everything you need to know about stepping into the arena — how it works, what you can argue, and how the points, gifts, and votes all fit together.

Getting Started

What is Moral Kombat?

Moral Kombat is a live 1-on-1 debate platform. Two people argue a real question on camera while an audience — the Flock — watches, reacts, and votes on who actually won. It's a battle of ideas, not a battle between people. (More on the story behind the name.)

How is it different from arguing on social media?

Debates here are structured, timed, and face-to-face, with one clear question and a real outcome decided by the Flock Vote. No algorithm, no pile-on, no last-word-wins — just two people making their case to the room.

Who is it for?

Anyone who likes to think out loud and defend a position — and anyone who likes to watch a sharp argument and weigh in. You can step in as a debater, join the Flock to watch and vote, or both.

Do I need experience to debate?

No. If you can make a case for something you believe, you can step into the arena. The format and the clock handle the structure for you.

How a Debate Works

How does a debate work?

One person issues a Challenge naming the topic, the other accepts, and the two go head-to-head in timed rounds on camera. When the clock runs out, the Flock votes and the Flock Vote decides the winner.

[[Confirm the round structure and timing — e.g. opening / rebuttal / closing, and seconds per round]]

What's a Challenge?

A public invitation to debate. You name the topic and the time, drop the link wherever the argument started, and your opponent accepts. (See the glossary for the full arena vocabulary.)

How does voting work?

The Flock votes at the end, and the result is the Flock Vote. Flock Sway shows how many minds a debater actually moved, and the side the room crowns is the Flock Favorite.

Who are the Ravens and the Flock?

The two debaters are the Ravens — two intelligent voices, opposite sides. The Flock is everyone gathered around the debate. The Ravens make the arguments; the Flock decides what lands. (Why ravens?)

Topics & Rules

What can I debate?

Difficult, controversial, even unpopular positions are welcome — as long as they're argued in good faith. The line isn't how provocative a topic is; it's whether the goal is to reason or to harm.

What's not allowed?

Hate speech, harassment, threats, doxxing, sexual content involving minors, and other illegal content are off the table, no matter how they're framed. Full details are in our Community Guidelines.

What are the rules of a debate?

Argue in good faith, stay on the topic and the clock, don't fabricate facts or quotes, and be willing to lose — a strong loss beats a cheap win. [[Link to the dedicated Rules page once it's built]]

Points, Gifts & Tipping

What are Kombat Points (KP)?

Kombat Points are the in-app currency. You buy KP, then spend it to send Gifts to debaters you want to back.

How do I support a debater?

You Give Props by sending Gifts with your Kombat Points. Sending a Gift earns the debater Props, and their lifetime total shows as Props Received. The Golden Feather is the premium Gift — the biggest show of support in the arena.

How much does it cost?

Watching and debating are free. Kombat Points are optional and only needed if you want to send Gifts. [[Add KP pricing / packs]]

Can debaters earn money?

[[State your payouts policy — whether Props can be converted to real-world earnings, or whether they're for recognition and rankings only]] Either way, the billing details live in our Refund & Billing Policy.

Badges & Gamification

What are badges and rankings?

As you debate, win Flock Votes, and earn Props, you build a record that's reflected in badges and rankings — recognition for showing up and making strong cases. [[List the badge tiers / ranking system once finalized]]

Does watching count for anything?

Yes — the Flock isn't passive. Voting, reacting, and backing debaters all make you part of the community, and [[describe any spectator rewards / levels, if offered]].

Chat & Conduct

What are the chat rules?

Bring energy, react, and vote — but keep chat free of harassment and slurs, and vote on the argument rather than piling on a person. The full code is in our Community Guidelines.

How do I report someone?

[[Describe the report flow — in-app report button and/or report email]] Serious violations can lead to an immediate, permanent ban.

Account & Safety

How old do I have to be?

You must be at least [[minimum age]] to use Moral Kombat. See our Terms of Use for the full eligibility rules.

Are debates recorded?

Yes. Debates are live and may be recorded and published, so anything you say in the arena or in chat can be public and lasting. More in our Privacy Policy.
